Tesla Model X: “Weak spots” of the front suspension – should you worry about the wishbone?
Weak spots of the front suspension are a question that worries many owners of any car, especially such an innovative electric crossover as Tesla, although the Model X impresses with its technology, power and premium comfort, the design features in some cases cause concern. One of the most vulnerable elements is the front wishbone, the malfunctions of which can have serious consequences for the safety and handling of the car.
Tesla Model X front suspension: how it works
The front suspension is a complex and high-tech system that performs several key functions at once. It forms a connection between the wheels and the body, allowing you to smooth out uneven road surfaces, maintain stability in turns and provide comfort during everyday use.
Main functions:
- absorbing road irregularities;
- stabilization of the body position during movement and braking;
- ensuring clear contact of the wheels with the road surface;
- uniform distribution of the load between the wheels;
- reduction of vibrations transmitted to the body and the steering wheel.
The central element of the structure is the front wishbone. It is it that holds the wheel in the desired position and absorbs dynamic loads during acceleration, braking and cornering. The wishbone works in close interaction with other components: shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, ball joints, which creates a complex but effective system.

Weaknesses: What to Look For
Despite engineering excellence, the front suspension has a number of vulnerabilities due to the design, weight of the car, and operating conditions. The most common problems encountered by owners are:
- Wear of the wishbone bushes of the transverse arm. These rubber bushings are responsible for the flexible attachment of the arm to the subframe. Over time, especially in conditions of moisture, dirt, and temperature changes, the wishbone bushes lose their elasticity and exfoliate. As a result, an extraneous knock appears when driving, and steering precision decreases.
- Corrosion or cracks in the metal base. The metal components of the arms, especially in climatic zones with active use of salt on the roads, can be subject to rust and mechanical wear. In some cases, microcracks are found, which later lead to complete destruction of the assembly.
- Uneven tire wear. This symptom is often the first signal that the suspension geometry is broken, the cause may be the deformation of the transverse lever or the loss of rigidity of the silent blocks.
Consequences of malfunctions:
- decreased directional stability of the car at high speed;
- increased load on ball bearings and shock absorbers;
- vibrations in the cabin, discomfort while driving;
- increased braking distance;
- the need for frequent tire replacement.
Why should you choose polyurethane analogues?
Original components for Tesla are often unavailable, have a long delivery time or are very expensive. In such cases, polyurethane products are an alternative that is not inferior in functionality. Polyurethane, from which bushings and suspension elements are made, has a number of advantages:
- increased service life under conditions of intensive use;
- resistance to moisture, reagents, oils and ultraviolet;
- optimal balance between rigidity and elasticity, which allows you to avoid excessive vibration transmission;
- stable operation at high and low temperatures.
In addition, polyurethane components are manufactured individually, taking into account the design features of the unit, which guarantees accurate fit and compatibility with original parts. On the lever 102735100C; 102735100D; 102735100E you will find:

PolyPro — a professional approach to Tesla repair
The company "PolyPro" is a team of professionals specializing in the manufacture and restoration of polyurethane suspension components. We work with passenger cars, commercial vehicles and, of course, with electric cars, including the Tesla line.
Our approach includes:
- a wide range of polyurethane products for different brands and models;
- restoration of units even without providing an old sample part;
- a full cycle: selection, purchase and preparation of brackets;
- manufacturing of the part in the production from modern materials;
- quality control and fast delivery of the finished product.
We use exclusively three-component hot-curing polyurethane of French production, which has passed certification and has withstood numerous tests in real conditions. The finished product has characteristics close to the original Tesla part: the same softness, but better "knock-down" and stability.
PolyPro is reliability, quality and care for your car. Choosing us, you get not just a new part, but confidence in safety on every kilometer.
