Blog Mitsubishi Lancer IX. Polyurethane front and rear suspension from PoliPro

Although Mitsubishi Lancer IX has flooded our roads since the mid-2000s, and the newest copies have been on our roads for at least 10 years, their popularity does not fall. After all, even after the 9th generation Lancer was discontinued in Japan in 2007, it was revived a little later, adding the prefix Classic to the name.

I must say that the pre-styling model turned out to be more in demand, while trouble-free cars of this brand are becoming less common, which is explained by their age. Why is Mitsubishi Lancer 9 still of interest? After all, they were developed at the end of the last century, although they began to sell with us since 2003.

Advantages of Mitsubishi Lancer IX

This compact sedan, one might say, is suitable for all occasions - both for the city and for the highway, for young people and for families with children. This is a more budget option than its Japanese counterparts with the same capabilities. Mitsubishi Lancer 9 is a beautiful and modern looking car. Salon can even be called designer. Although inexpensive plastic is inside the cabin, it is quite pleasant, not hard and not soft, it surpasses Koreans and Chinese in quality.

A significant advantage of this model are mirrors that are excellent for a small sedan, which give a good overview and leave few dead zones.

But why choose the Japanese in the first place? Because of their reliability, so as not to waste time on frequent maintenance and not spend money on repairs. With this car, it is: it has a predictable engine, and you can often not look under the hood. The suspension is also incredibly reliable: classic MacPherson struts in front, multi-link in the back. It is quite tough and perfectly resists our roads. At the same time, it is balanced and well controlled, thanks to which the car perfectly holds the trajectory in any corners. In its original condition, the suspension can move away without any intervention for more than 100 thousand km. The steering rack is also reliable.

But not everything is so perfect, and even more so not forever. In fact, the Mitsubishi Lancer IX is expensive to maintain for its class, and the cost of original spare parts for it is very high.

What other disadvantages does he have?

Disadvantages of Mitsubishi Lancer IX

Each car model has its own chronic diseases. Like all Japanese, the Lancer has poor sound insulation. The motor is audible strongly, especially if you have to gas.

Perhaps the first of the significant problems of this model is the weak corrosion resistance of the body. Even a scratch on the body can rust, especially on roads sprinkled with chemicals. And after getting into an accident and repair, bumps on the paint and rusty cobwebs appear. Also, the rear arches, the bottom of the doors rot, the glass under the hood quickly rots. But there are no special problems with its overcooking, because the VIN number is not stamped on it. Even the trunk lock suffers from corrosion. And if you open it all the time from the passenger compartment, then the lock may oxidize and stop opening with the key from the outside.

Another jamb is often found in specimens with a 1.6-liter engine: with a run of over 130-150 thousand km, it starts to eat oil, as piston rings lie. In this case, you need a complete bulkhead of the motor. It may also be necessary to sort out the throttle assembly if the idle speed starts to float.

The deformation of the front brake discs can also spoil the nerves, because of which they begin to mercilessly hit the steering wheel. The rear engine mount gets tired and deformed after a run of 100 thousand km, be sure to check its condition. The timing belt needs to be changed every 90 thousand kilometers.

The Lancer has a blunt automatic that will not allow the engine to open up to its full potential, but this is a fairly budget car, you should not expect much from it. Therefore, for the city, an automatic is a good option, but for the track it is better to choose a car with mechanics, they are more dynamic.

Polyurethane suspension for Mitsubishi Lancer IX from PoliPro

The Ukrainian manufacturer of polyurethane parts "PolyPro" offers a complete set of spare parts for the Mitsubishi Lancer 9 suspension, which reproduce the properties of the original parts, and at a much cheaper price.

Polyurethane as an elastic material fits perfectly into the Mitsubishi suspension concept - it is very tear-resistant, wear-resistant and is not afraid of aggressive chemicals. And the hardness can be achieved the same as that of rubber, so the polyurethane in the suspension does not make it stiffer.

In addition, we restore original parts, such as engine mounts, which allows you to significantly save on the purchase of original spare parts.

We are confident in the quality of polyurethane silent blocks, bushings and other parts from Poly Pro, therefore we provide a written guarantee for a period of 1 year (excluding mileage) for new and refurbished parts. More about the offers and conditions of cooperation with "PolyPro" can be found on our website or in the social. networks https://www.facebook.com/polyurethane.pro/ https://www.instagram.com/polypro_/?igshid=1ce8mlgg1t7sf .

And finally, a little life hack from experienced lancers: since the rear lights of this car, like those of the Porsche Cayenne, are mounted on self-tapping screws that someone else can easily unscrew with a regular four-sided screwdriver, replace them with hex head fasteners. They will be more wholesome.
